Hello and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web.
I have been blogging for several years now as a way to share my experiences with my fellow citizens. I used to have multiple blogs, but they all are consolidated into this one. Well the ones that were worth keeping anyway. ![]()
I’ve been focused on data ownership since March 2010. You can find more about data ownership at this page.
I’m currently working on the next major milestones of data ownership. These are
1) Milestone 1.5. Bullet proof, distributed, replicated, encrypted backups over any number of untrusted systems. Using Tahoe-lafs for this
2) Milestone 2.0. Distributed, active/active architecture using multiple infrastructure as a service providers.
3) Milestone 3.0 Secure, anonymous, encrypted, private platform for data ownership.
A bit about me:
Charles Wyble is a seasoned systems craftsman with a demonstrated expertise and multi disciplinary approach to the design, construction, deployment and defense of global scale systems for the worlds largest brands.
He has worked for companies spanning from small startups (StimTV, CampusExplorer) to major global brands (Intuit, The Walt Disney Company, IAC (evite.com), GSI, Fox Audience Network) and is currently employed full time by HostGator.
He has also contracted for the Department of Defense on multiple occasions and provided a wide range of IT support services to numerous small businesses throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
He lives with his wife Patricia in the Austin TX area, and they have two dogs (OSPF/ISIS).
He is currently working on “building an alternative, open, secure, cost effective bit moving platform for tomorrows distributed, decentralized, ipv6 only default free zone”.
He might just have enough gear to do it all himself:
